The Nexus Smart Switch has the ability to manage two air conditioners without adding additional components or cost. Gain even more flexibility by adding up to our more individual DLM modules for additional load management. 100 - 400 Amp Service Entrance Rated Switch (RTS-D SERIES) Our service entrance rated models include an integrated main breaker that eliminates the need for a separate service disconnect when backing up all of the electrical loads in a building. All Smart Switches are housed in an aluminum NEMA/UL Type 3R enclosure, with electrostatically applied and baked powder paint. The Heavy Duty Generac Contactor is a UL recognized device, designed for years of service. The control at the generator handles all the timing, sensing and exercising functions. Through the use of Digital Load Management technology (DLM), each of these switches has the capability to truly manage two air conditioning loads with no additional hardware. When used in tandem with the individual DLM modules, up to four more additional loads can be intelligently managed individually.

SPECIFICATIONS

	WHEN TO USE THE RTS-D SERIES SWITCHES WHOLE HOUSE TRANSFER

	1. By monitoring generator engine performance, the switch is able to identify when the generator approaches overload. At the appropriate time, the switch disconnects two air conditioners, typically the highest electrical load in the house. 2. After a 5-minute delay to allow for compressor bleed out, the switch brings the AC units back online one after the other with a 30-second delay in between. This is a standard capability in all Generac Smart Switches and does not require any additional components, unlike competitive transfer switches. 3. In addition, up to four other large 240V loads can be managed when the Smart Switch is used in conjunction with individual DLM modules. DLM modules are 50 Amps each and are housed in a NEMA 3R enclosure, giving the installer the option to install them either at the electrical panel or anywhere in-line indoors or outdoors between the electrical panel and the appliance. After the four loads are shed, they are brought back individually to assure DLM Module generator capability and eliminate the potential of overload.

	SEQUENCE OF OPERATION The 4 green status LEDs will indicate when a load priority level is enabled. All loads are enabled when the transfer signal is off. (ATS in Utility position). If the transfer signal is pulled low (Active) All loads are enabled until an overload is detected When an overload is detected all loads are disabled After 5 minutes priority 1 loads are enabled. After another 30 seconds priority 2 loads are enabled After another 30 seconds priority 3 loads are enabled After another 30 seconds priority 4 loads are enabled If an overload is detected within 30 seconds of a level being enabled, all loads are disabled again and the sequence repeats. However, the level that caused the overload and all levels higher will not be enabled again for 30 minutes.
