The transfer switch monitors utility power and signals the generator to start when utility power is interrupted. When utility power returns, the transfer switch returns the electrical load from the generator back to the utility. This ensures your most important electrical loads are powered, within seconds, even when youre away. Unlike other brands, GUARDIAN includes an automatic transfer switch as standard equipment with all air-cooled models.
This transfer switch is the difference between a truly automatic generator set and just another generator. No toggles to flip, no knobs to turn, no extension cords to run when you lose utility power. You will have the comfort and peace-of-mind knowing that your GUARDIAN standby generator does everything for you... automatically.
The Generac Guardian RTS-E-200A3 Transfer switch Switch is UL 1008 listed and provides automatic transfer from the utility to the generator in the event of a power outage. The enclosure is rated for NEMA 3R (outdoor) installation and is fully protected from the elements. Two 200 amp breakers are provided for disconnecting the utility and generator power for service, the switch during power failure is fully automatic within 15 seconds of an outage.
Generac RTS automatic transfer switches are designed to operate with the digital control used on air-cooled generators and the liquid-cooled series gaseous generators from 8 kW through 60 kW. The 200 amp open transition switches are available.
