Features and Benefits
Quiet-Test
Generac's exclusive Quiet-Test feature reduces sound levels by lowering engine speed during the generator's weekly self-test. The sound of a QT Series generator during exercise is comparable to a car at idle and meets all known noise regulations.
Sound Attenuated Enclosures
Generac QT Series automatic standby generators feature weather resistant, rodent proof and sound attenuated enclosures as standard equipment.
Aluminum Enclosure
Selected QT Series models feature a corrosion-resistant aluminum enclosure to better withstand the elements. This option is especially important in coastal areas where harsh salt air is especially corrosive.
Natural Gas / LP Vapor Operation
QT Series generators operate on natural gas or LP vapor, providing virtually unlimited run time during extended utility power failures. In addition, gaseous fuels produce far fewer exhaust emissions than diesel, eliminate the need for expensive double-walled fuel tanks and make it easier to get the required permits in most areas.
Easy Installation
Generac's QT Series generators offer the fastest and easiest installation available. All connections within the generator and transfer switches are easily accessible and clearly marked. The generators' light weight allows roof mounting and makes them easy to place without large cranes or specialized equipment. For applications requiring indoor installation, QTA models are available as open gensets.
Automatic Exerciser
An automatic weekly self test of your system ensures that your generator is in peak operating condition at all times.
Fully Automatic Operation
Generac standby generators continually monitor utility power. When the utility fails, the generator starts and signals the automatic transfer switch to lock out the utility and allow electricity from the generator to power the home. When utility power returns, the automatic transfer switch will lock out power from the generator and restore utility power. The generator will shut itself off and wait for the next power outage. Because it's automatic, you never have to worry about a power outage, even when you're away from home.
Proven High Volume Engines
Generac commercial generators use high volume engines that have been well-proven in the demanding trucking industry. These mass produced engines help us keep our prices low and can be easily serviced using readily available, cost-effective parts.
Remote Communications
QT Series models with the H-100 controller and all QTA models are capable of remote system management via computer with the addition of an optional modem and our GenLink software
Remote Annunciator
An optional remote annunciator is available for all QTA models for remote monitoring and seamless integration with existing facilities management systems.
Cold Weather Operation
QTA models come standard with a coolant heater and an optional insolated battery blanket is available for all models.
Battery Charger
A built-in 2 Amp battery charger (10 Amp in QTA models) ensures that the battery remains at an optimum performance level.
Isochronous Electronic Governor
Constant and instantaneous speed control provides faster response time to block loads and a more consistent output frequency. QT Series models with the H-100 controller and all QTA models feature an isochronous governor.
Closed Recovery Cooling System
The closed, pressurized system virtually eliminates the introduction of air into the cooling system. Rust and fluid acidity are minimized, resulting in longer engine life.
Vibration Isolation
Standard vibration isolators virtually eliminate the transmission of vibration from the generator to the mounting surface.
Automatic Warnings and Alarms
Generator functions are constantly monitored through a protective system that features solid state circuitry for reliability and long life. QT Series generators with the H-100 controller provide all NFPA 110 required warnings and alarms for a variety of safety and operational concerns.
Automatic Safety Shutdowns
Automatic safety shutdowns protect the engine and generator in the event of low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, overspeed and/or overcrank.
